I am getting a required sign in when launching PDFs from the net or files. If I open Adobe Reader and go to File Open document it eliminates the sign on...but this defeats the efficiency of clicking on a file type. Here is the second window I see. I do not want to license any software or try any software at the moment. I just need to use Reader accordingly. I have read several proposals and none of them seem to work.

You have both Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader on your system.

Deinstall Adobe Acrobat and repair the installation of Acrobat Reader.

Thank you Bernd. I spent too much time reading the proposed solutions. This one solved it for me. Uninstalled Adobe Acrobat and that took care of it. No repairs needed to Reader.
