Still can't search document

New Here ,
Mar 14, 2018 Mar 14, 2018

I've searched the adobe forums trying to find an answer but I'm still unable to search my document and yield any results.  I will purposely use some words that I've seen in the document and it still doesn't highlight any of them.  it was working fine in the last few weeks; this is sudden.

I haven't changed any settings or anything either.  please help?

**also, I've tried the tips that I've seen here.  I don't have a "preferences" option under the 'file' tab

thank you

Hi Alyson,

By "still can't search document" are you referring that you are not able to search the words in the PDF?

If yes, please check if it is a Scanned PDF.

You cannot search words in the scanned PDF as it acts as an image.

To check that, try to select the text in the PDF. If you cannot select the text that means it is a scanned file.

If the case is different, please let us know if this issue occurs with a particular PDF. Replicate the issue with other PDFs.

Share the exact version of the Adobe application you are using on your machine. Take help of the steps mentioned here Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Are you on Mac or Windows? What is the OS version installed?

Let us know if you need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi
