I have downloaded several files and all I get is a black screen when I try to open them. What can I do to fix it?

Hi DemDawson,
Please try repairing the application.
Open the application and go to Help menu >Repair installation. Also, check for the updates.
Try once opening PDF from the application. Go to File menu > Open and browse the file location.
Are you experiencing this issue with all the files or with some particular PDFs?
Do you get any error message when you open the PDF? If yes, please share the exact message.
What is the exact dot version of Adobe application installed on your system?
Are you on Mac or Windows? OS version?
