Adobe has stopped responding to a 'solved' problem that is not solved.
Everything is listed in this thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/unable-to-print-pdfs-since-automatic-updat...
I'm hoping that by making a new thread they'll respond. I've tried email and the forum.
Printing from version 2021.007.20099 to a Canon Imagerunner Advance 8595 is hit or miss. I've got files I've printed before that I can't print now from Acrobat. I can print these same files from a different PDF reader without issue.
I can make almost ALL PDFs fail if I use the cover setting and turn on secure print (not an issue from any other program or any other pdf printer).
I have updated Acrobat DC. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the print driver.
I've uploaded a video of it happening.
On this thread I uploaded 2 files, 1 that could print and 1 that couldn't. No response from Adobe after almost a week.
I just want it fixed.
Hi there
Hope you are doing well.
The new version of Adobe Acrobat (23.01.20143), addressing this issue is now available. Please update the application from the Help menu > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
You may also download the patch manually from the link https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html
Let us know how it goes.
Regards
Amal
As of April 21, 2023, this seems fixed to me. I haven't had a file fail to print since I updated to 23.01.20143.
Thank you Amal.

Hi Michael,
I've been following this issue myself for the past couple months, as a client of mine had a similar issue where he couldn't print ANY files from Adobe. We did the Google Chrome print workaround until I was able to figure it out. After talking with Adobe support and reinstalling Adobe and the print drivers dozens of times, reviewing the logs and the Print Production Preflight Tool, the client and I ended up taking an afternoon and rebuilding the Windows profile of the user. After that it worked for us. If you choose to rebuild your Windows profile, please do so carefully and backup all data. Hope this helps.

My computer was a i7-4790 and I was going on 7.5 years with it and I started having power supply issues last week, so I built a new computer and upon install of everything as brand new, I don't have the problem anymore.
But building a new computer or reinstalling all software is not a solution for all the other people that have this issue. They've known it was a problem for more than a year. I've turned in logs several times. I keep reupping the thread. I'm not the only one that had this issue.

Hi searching round for sometime and then experimenting myself I can tell you the only surefire way to fix the problem is as follow .
Remove Adobe Reader / DC pro from your system entirley. RESTART. Download the FREE reader only and instal
l this. DO NOT UPGRADE IF ASKED. Once installed printing will work. RETSTART. Upgrade the free version to the Pro version (if you have it) RESTART - The Pro version will also now work. It is a bit of a faff but I promise it does work.

I had the same issue. Printing on "Tabloid" would give me this error for some reason, but my printer has another paper option called "Tabloid 11x17" and that worked... Wish that I could understand the problem instead of coming up with a bogus workaround.

By completly buidling from scratch a new computer, and installing all the software again from brand new, the problem went away for about a month.
I can still print to my sheet fed copiers/printers, but I get the error still printing to my wide format again. Switching to 'landscape' seems to fix it.
So frustrating.

So there may be a few different things happenign in this thread, but if you are able to create a new user account and it allows you to print, then the issue is a local user appdata cache
goto C:\users\(usernameoftheperson)\appdata\local\adobe\acrobat
and delete the contents inside each folder.
This should resolve the printing issue in some cases.

I'll try this the next time I print something that gives me the error. Thanks.

Yep, a whole year with the paid subscription, and now I can't print anything, and there is no solution yet? This thread started over a year ago.....If this can't get fixed, I guess I'll go find a free one. I've tried printing a new pdf, an old pdf that I've never printed, and a pd that I have printed 100's of times and nothing prints.

Well, the exact same issue began for me two days ago, Dec 20, 2022.
Win 10 Pro. I print pdf docs just about every day and have never had an issue like this before. Yes, all software, drivers, firmware, etc - everything - is up to date. Random print failure with same error message as others.
"Print As Image" has worked on occasion for certain docs. Others that were simple text docs that failed to print would work if I closed the program (Adobe Reader) and reopened. Then maybe a few hours later the same pdf would throw the error messages.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Reader. Made no difference - the random failure-to-print continues. Hard to believe that some of the customers here (several who are paying Adobe a lot of money) have been dealing with this for over a year with no fix or end in sight.
Customer service? That's an oxymoron in today's world. Sad that it's now affecting companies such as Adobe who used to care about such things. Unfortunately, those days are gone.

So after getting on the chat with Adobe Customer Service, they were able to completely uninstall acrobat and then reinstall and it is completely working now. What they had to do from what I could tell (they remoted into my computer) they uninstalled all adobe products, deleted all adobe folders, and cleared out anything Adobe related in the Windows registery file. But it is fixable!!!!!

Every time they have asked to remote to my computer, I have responded very quickly and then a week later I follow up and they say they talked with someone else on the forum and so my stuff never got fixed.
Currently the only problem I have is sometimes I have to use the 'landscape' trick to make it work.

That's an improvement from where it's been for you. I'll keep that trick in the arsenal of shade tree mechanic fixes for the Adobe error. It does seem that manipulating something/anything in the print dialog box (settings or advanced, etc) might be what it takes to get Adobe out of its funk temporarily. Hoefully a permanent, proper fix will be forthcoming.

Glad it's solved for you!
I suppose I could do something similar on my own but I wouldn't want to fool with registry regarding Adobe entries there, simply because considering browser extensions and the like, it's buried in so many places. Even deleting files and folders could be tricky unless only deleting what might be directly associated with the Adobe app itself. Guess I'll wait a bit and see what transpires.

I will join the discussion. I am now getting these error messages when trying to print from Adobe to a HP color laser jet. It just started 1/18/23. I had saved a pdf document gereated from QB. I went to print it and started getting the 'could not print" and "an error occured" messages. Earlier, I made some changes to preferences, but only related to Adobe "phoning home," - Adobe warning me when it is not the default pdf program. (Background, I was searching for a default file location for saving pdf docuements. I want to save in my preferred location, not Adobe's default.) Once I got the error messages, I tried to reset the default setting. It did not fix the problem.
I have tried all the above fixes (except the intstll Reader then upgrade to Pro). I even tried "closing my eyes, clicking my heals three times, and repeating "there's no place like home.'" Not surprisingly, that did not work.
I can perform the print from Chrome/FireFox/Edge, but this is a temporary work-around.
On another issue, when I right click on the Adobe task bar, I get "An internal error has occurred" message. There is no other explanation with it. See the images.
And another thing: I tried scanning in documents yesterday 1/19/23 and all the pages were either completely black or multi-colored blocks, like a printer test sheet. I did not save the scanned docs.
Come on Adobe, it has been almost 2 years.

If you have had to do it 3 times, then its not a fix, it is temporary. I built a whole new computer and installed all software from the source and the problem came back in 2 months.
