Community Beginner ,
Aug 03, 2018 Aug 03, 2018

Hi, I cannot install Acrobat Reader, using Mac OS version 10.13.6   I used the remove acrobat files tool and got the result that there were no files on the computer. I tried to download Reader from several sources, but keep getting the message that the Install Failed.

Has anyone had this problem? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Hello Johne,

We're sorry for the trouble you had with the installation of Adobe Reader on Mac machine, please reboot the computer once and use Acrobat Cleaner tool to remove any conflicting or corrupt installation files of Adobe Reader Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine again and try installing Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

make sure that you have all the updates of the operating system installed. If the issue still persists, please create a test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account and try installing Adobe Reader How to enable the root user on your Mac or change your root password - Apple Support

Thanks, Anand Sri. I have tried all that you suggested and still cannot download Adobe Reader.  I even set up a test user profile and got the same error message and was working with an Apple rep at the time. Strangely, the link that you sent also does not work . It lets me select the MacOS but won't let me select the language or version.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Hi Johne,

We're sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Is it a personal computer or an office machine? Is the machine is connected to a Wired network or a Wireless network?

Is any security software is installed?

If the setup is not getting downloaded, it seems that the security or network is restricting the download. Is it possible to connect the machine to a different network environment like a guest wireless network or a mobile hotspot?

For testing purpose, open the link to download Adobe Reader on your mobile device and check Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

let us know how it goes and share your observation.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
