Viewing embedded Zip files in Adobe Acrobat DC in Mac Os Sierra V.10.12.6

New Here ,
Sep 22, 2017 Sep 22, 2017

Hi , i receive  Password protected PDF files containing embedded files , which i was able to read by modifying the same based on the Following method,

The FeatureLockDown field was moved from within the application's directory to

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Reader/DC/Preferences

In here, you need to look for the settings for .zip and change them from "3" to 0, 1 or 2 (depending on what you want the behavior to be). You can find out more here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AppSec/attachments.html?highlight=blacklist (look for the section "UI and registry config").

How do i go about the same while using the Mac Os Sierra V.10.12.6 , unable to locate the Preferences file

Hi Avinashg,

We apologize for the delay in response to your query.

Could you confirm whether you are using Adobe Reader DC or Acrobat DC?

To look for Adobe Reader's preferences you may refer to the ~/Library/Application Support/Preferences

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Reader/DC/Preferences

In here, you need to look for the settings for .zip and change them from "3" to 0, 1 or 2 (depending on what you want the behavior to be). You can find out more here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AppSec/attachments.html?highlight=blackl ist (look for the section "UI and registry config").

Would you also share the link of your findings shared above?

Regards,

Akanchha
