I recently encountered artifacts introduced when using the Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin (COM Add-in) tool from Adobe Acrobat DC in Microsoft Word (Office 365).
Typically I will have a document and then convert to PDF to finalize and send out (within Word go to File --> Save as Adobe PDF). I then sometimes need to modify the PDF afterwards for appearance, such as shifting the exact position of some lines or getting a signature fitted right. I open the newly made PDF in Acrobat Pro (version info below) and click "Edit."
When I shift the position of text, boxes, almost like rows in a 1x1 table (or something comparable to a clipping mask in Illustrator when importing a PDF), appear and they are layered over the text. The appearance is more dramatic when you substantially move the text, but is noticeable on some characters with attributes that go lower like the "g" in my example photos. These artifacts align near-perfectly center to each line of text.
I do this quite frequently, so where I see that I can just delete the artifacts or select the text to "arrange to front", doing this over and over would be cumbersome and greatly increase the amount of time spent on this task. Using the Microsoft Print to PDF style is not an option as this save method rasterizes vector images embedded into the Word Document. Using the Save As PDF (not "Save as ADOBE PDF") also impacts the vector graphics.
I have used this tool this way for several years and only today encountered this problem. Thank you for any guidance!
