I have a software program that utilized Adobe to create PDF reports. Recently something has changed such that when I send the file to someone they get gibberish instead of the file. I have to convert the file to Word and resend it. I have noticed that at about the same time this began happening I would be asked if I wanted to "Save my changes" on a PDF file that I had open and was closing. I do have the convert service but it was not used. Also, this only happens on files that are created in PDF by my software program. Any thoughts would be appreciated

That message means the file is corrupt and the application is trying to fix it when it opens it.
I would contact the makers of this software you're using. Clearly something is wrong in the way it's producing PDF files.

In the PDF, go to File > Properties. Which application does it say was used to make the PDF? What does it say for earlier PDFs that are good?

Please tell us what application was used to make these two files, as well as the version. This is in the same screen. While you are there also please tell us the PDF producer.

I am not sure how to answer this question.
The first file is produced by Developer Express Inc. (tm) v16.2.6. This is the file that incorrect.
The second file produced is not shown. I believe I scanned it in from another document.
I cannot find the application used and the version is identified above. How would I locate this info?
Thanks

Ok, that is important information. We are saying it's a problem with the software you use to make the PDF. You've identified the software: Developer Express Inc. (tm) v16.2.6 Is this software you use/own, or a file you were sent by someone else? Is it possible to make a PDF with this software you are happy to share publicly?

Ah, now I reread the discussion, you say "recently something changed". So we asked you to compare a new file made with the current "software program that utilized Adobe to create PDF reports." with a PDF file made with the SAME software in the past which worked. That is, a file made before "recently something changed". The file you "scanned from another document" doesn't figure anywhere in this problem solving.

Clinton, as I said in this post yesterday: Go to File > Properties.
The first tab is Description and the information we are asking for looks like this. We need it for good documents and bad documents to compare the info. If it is blank, tell us anyway.

Okay, I think I understand what you need. The following two files were created in the same software program.
The first was created on 11/24/2016 and works fine:
PFD Producer: Developer Express Inc. DXperence (tm) V16.1.7
PDF Version: 1.4(Acrobat 5x)
The second was created on 7/27/18 and when closed asks me if I want to update and then the file is garbled if I email.
PDF Producer: Developer Express Inc. DXperence (tm) V16.2.6
FDF Version: 1.4(Acrobat 5x)
It would appear the only change is the version of the PDF Producer. Perhaps that is where we should begin our discussion?

One thing to know is that Adobe is not involved in the making of your PDF. Adobe created the PDF technology, then gave it away to an ISO and now there are many companies who create PDFs. Not all of them make good PDFs.
You might start by going to the site for DXperence since that is the only difference. They have a link for support. Tell them what you told us.
Here is their site: DevExpress DXperience
