I'm using a tablet by BestBuy's "Unbranded" house brand. It came with Windows 8.1 and Adobe Reader Acrobat DC worked beautifully. Converting to Windows 10 caused immediate compatibility problems: Acrobat DC froze ("not responding") upon opening. Adobe's troubleshooting found a gerry-rigging by configuring DC to open in -- or was it out of? -- "protected mode." While Acrobat Reader DC does indeed now open, it has no functionality -- I can't even save the document.
How can I restore functionality?

Installing a program on Windows can be a complex operation; data are not only written in various places on the local disk, but also in the registry.
Upgrading Windows is even more complex, and the registry has to be completely rebuilt. It does not surprise me that some programs will no longer function normally after a Windows 10 upgrade. Uninstalling/reinstalling will fix such problems in most cases.

I installed Windows 10 and Firefox a week ago… I have experienced intermittent issues with Acrobat ever since… specifically, if I open a pdf and click to scroll or print (etc) too quickly, the image freezes and reads “Adobe Acrobat is not responding” and I must restart for acrobat to work properly again
In an 8 hour working day, I am restarting 8-10 times

Your strategy frazzles my layman's reasoning: Adobe Reader DC was installed no more than ten days before I converted to Windows 10;
DC functioned flawlessly under Windows 8.1; DC's freeze-on-startup ("not responding") malfunctioning began immediately after
converting to Windows 10. This suggests to me that based on coincidence that Windows 10 incompatibility is the exclusive cause of
Adobe's malfunctioning.
Accepting this as fact -- and I solicit your counter-explanation -- why do you think that a fresh reinstall of DC will render DC as
Windows 10 compatible?

Reinstallation did indeed solve the problem -- Adobe DC no longer freezes upon opening and has re-acquired full functionality -- though perhaps not for the reason that you proffered. The Adobe DC that I downloaded about one month ago and installed under Windows 8.1 was apparently incompatible with Windows 10 whereas the Adobe DC that I downloaded pursuant to your recommendation -- two days ago and installed under Windows 10 -- had a version that was specific to Windows 10 thereby guaranteeing no incompatibility.
Many Thanks for your Help!
