Windows 10 in s mode

Why can't I use the Acrobat reader on Windows 10 in s mode. The edition they allow does not let me carry out my work. The only way I can see is to come out of s mode (a one way operation) then there is a whole lot more issues to deal with. Another Microsoft issue ? Any one have a way round this as yet.
