Windows Application Error

I am not able to access Adobe Reader DC.  My computer is running Windows 10 Home 64-Bit.  I keep getting this message:  The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022).  Click OK to close the application.  I have tried reinstalling form a different site, unchecking the protect box, making sure java is running.  This is day 3 trying to get this installed and I am at the end.  I have restored my computer more times than you can imagine.  My computer was just purchased in Nov. 2016.  I am at the point of uninstalling Adobe Reader DC and saying forget it.  Has anybody else had this problem and can you please me get this resolved before I give up?  Thank you.
