Hi @-27299692yc7o

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble with digital certificates.

To avoid being prompted to select a digital ID each time your sign or certify a PDF, you can select a default digital ID:

  • In Acrobat Reader, click the Edit menu and choose Preferences > Signatures. In Identities & Trusted Certificates, click More.

  • Click Digital IDs on the left, and then select the digital ID you want to use as the default.
  • Click the Usage Options button, and choose a task for which you want the digital ID as the default. To specify the digital ID as the default for tasks, click the Usage Options button again and select a second option.

You may learn more here: Manage Digital IDs in Acrobat.

Hope this helps.

Sorry but that doesn't help because it doesn't work.

As I wrote, I set the only Certificate available in the Windows store as default but Reader still ask me to select one.

Verified this behavior on 3 different computer and 3 differnt logged in User (one with completeley new and fresh installed windows). the Reader version is 2022.003.20282

I test it also with a new selfsigned certificate which was generated with the reader itself.

Last I would need a automatic solution as this should be done for >1000 Computer.

Hi @-27299692yc7o,

Sorry for the trouble. Can you check if all the three options are selected when trying to sign a document?

Hi,

Shared below is a similar community thread that addresses the question you have.

Would you mind having a look at it and let us know if this helps: Re: Digital Cert Signature with No Prompt

as I understand "George" correct he has the same problem I have. He set a special certificate manually as default and the program (in his case Acrobat Pro in my case the Reader) ignors it and prompt for the certificat to use.
