Hi
I'm having trouble highlighting a PDF document on my iPad. I had the same trouble last night, but then I found out I had to convert the PDF in order to be able to do that. I converted it, and everything was fine. But now when I want to continue highlighting, it won't let me do it. The document is still converted, cause I am able to highlight it on my computer, so I know it hasn't gone back to its original state. I have tried to reconvert it on my iPad, and it said that now I can highlight and all those things, but still, nothing is happening when I try. It's just zooming in on the text when I touch it with my apple pencil.
Please help!

What convert did you do?
It's just zooming in on the text when I touch it with my apple pencil.

Try with the fingers. It works for me. Be sure to use Acrobat on the iPad, not Preview!

It's also just zooming when I use my finger. I just used the option where it scans the PDF and converts it so you can edit it. It's a scan from a textbook. But I haven't touched my iPad since last night, when I was able to do it. And now it just won't cooperate.

By zooming, you mean showing a loupe? I have that too on unrecognized text for a scanned document.
Sending it through recognition allows me to mark text on my iPad, on my PC I can still mark graphics too. If I try that on my iPad, it's just scrolling around.
Check if the document you have is really a document with recognized text.

No it's more of a square where the text I'm touching with the apple pencil is enlarged. Ive tried using the recognise feature many times, and the program says that now ill be able to edit and stuff, but still nothing. The weird thing is that I was able to highlight in it last night.

I'm having this same issue. I have several PDFs that I was able to highlight and underline text in just a couple days ago, but if I use the blue pencil button in the bottom right-hand corner and select 'Comment' I'm unable to highlight or underline anything. When I get out of Comment I'm still able to select text using my finger, so I know the text is still there in my PDF. And interestingly, I can even apply a highlight at that point since I can use a pop-up menu. It's just that I can't do anything with the pencil in Comment mode. Super frustrating, especially because I know how it used to work.
I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling it. I've tried changing the iPad general settings for my pencil to indicate that I don't want the pencil to be the only way I can draw on the screen. But nothing is working. Has anyone else been able to figure this out?

Hi @robertw1627610 @Freja277997761q6q,
Thanks for writing in!
As mentioned that it's a scanned book, have you tried using the option to recognize text first? This enables Reader Mobile to actuall identify texts as select them as individual blocks to highlight.
Also, would you mind sharing a sample file where you experienced the issue for further testing in house.
I have raised the issue with the dev team to investigate further, but we would need the sample file for testing.
