Hi @Lucian381534133cnb,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

The cache files are saved to your local storage when you are making any changes or annotating a PDF, while the file is saved on any cloud drive.

Acrobat keeps a local copy of the file to get the changes added and processed, later implementing them in the original file.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Thank you very much for your answer. I found the same .pdf files stored also on com.adobe.reader/files/Downloads path. Can you please tell me, in this situation, as a result of which actions same .pdf documents are stored in both com.adobe.reader/cache/flattening_temp_dir and com.adobe.reader/files/Downloads directories on an Android device? Thank you!

@Lucian381534133cnb If you attempt to add annotations or edit a PDF file, cache files are created in the temporary directory within the system folder.

These files help Acrobat Reader Mobile keep the processing smoother for a better experience. Once you are done editing, you can go to your device's system settings and clear the cache for the app. The files will be gone without hampering your actual work.
