Drawing tools - shapes non existent on ACrobat reader for iPad?

New Here ,
Jun 14, 2022 Jun 14, 2022

I'm subscribed to acrobat pro dc but unable to find where the drawing tools are when opening file on iPad. I'm a lighting designer and need to mark up floor plans when on-site via iPad and then open same file on desktop when I return to office. Why is this so difficult?? When I select comments the pencil/pen come up but not the shapes option. Any advice?

Hello Shawn,

The shape options are available on the desktop version of the application. I suggest you fill out the feature request form, which goes directly to our product team to review and implement in the upcoming updates.

Hello Shawn,

I hope you are doing well. As per the above description, I understand that you want to be able to edit PDFs on your iPad.

Once you open a PDF,, and if it is editable, you will get all the options on the three dots on the top right of the menu bar.

To know more, click on the link: Work with PDFs — Acrobat for iOS Help (adobe.com)

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Souvik.

Hi
When I click on the 3 dots the options that come up are pen/line/eraser,
but I need the shapes-circle square etc. I know the PDF is editable when I
open it on my laptop and click comments, I can see the shapes option to
select, but it doesn't appear on ipad version:/

Program premium Adobe would probably make more money if the let the user chose (pencil or shapes, just saying). Pencil sucks. Or do it a la carte style, with lower price points for people only needing one or two features.. Plus a lite version of the app would be much better anyway.  The full op version is ginormous and takes up so much space. Freezes my desktop up all the time, with it being the only running program. I have to also convert my pdf to JPEG in order to print anything on the color plotter. It's just crazy..  It's more difficult  to draw a steady free-structurehanded rectangle around a submittal selection than to add a shape (which can also be copied/pasted for even more time saving.  Just wasted  an hour because the shapes were all I wanted. (This is like Apple getting rid of their magnifying feature on the photo edit!? So dumb. Who makes these decisions?! Obviously not anyone that actually uses the program. I used that magnifier a lot and it’s just gone.

So, will these same adobe login credentials let me access and use the full site and edit features if I login at my desktop? I won't have to purchase another license, right? I’m sorry for the rant, but heck, this is just frustrating and a huge time suck with no results. 😑
