How do I highlight text in only one page of a multiple page PDF?

I have Adobe Reader, with Adobe PRO subscription logged in on an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. 

 

I have a multiple page PDF document opened and want to highlight text on the first page, but the highlighted areas located on page 1 transfer to every page in the PDF, creating yellow rectangles, not associated with any text.

 

How do I stop this from happening? I would like to highlight only the important information on each page independently.
