Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.
Would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat mobile app and the OS you are using? Tap on the profile icon > About Acrobat and try updating the app to the latest version available on the Play Store and reboot the device once.
If it still doesn't work, please share a small video recording of the steps you are doing and the issue as it occurs for more clarity.
