Is it possible to view my files on my television?

All I want to do is view my homeschool curriculum on my television. Apparently no other mom is struggling with this. I was told to just mirror image the file to your tv. Well that's not even an option I'm given. I am trying to do this on my android phone... If someone could give me some info on this it would be greatly appreciated.

You would need to mirror your screen with the television to do so. 

Every device has its way of mirroring the screen. You might want to search Google to know how to mirror the screen.
