Why would a smaller PNG image converted to a PDF result in a larger PDF file?

Hope you are doing well. Thank you for writing in!

The size of the PDF depends on the details of graphics used in the PNG, the layers and the metadata which are needed to process and create the PDF.

You can use the compress file option to reduce the size of the PDF file and check if that's better.

If one the desktop version, you will get it under Optmize PDF.
