I have a document that is able to be filled and signed on the desktop version of Adobe but when downloaded on the iPad version it says it is "read Only"?

Hi @davidah64d,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader Mobile.

Some files are created such that they have restrictions when it comes to making any changes. With the mobile version of Reader, there are certain limitations when handling such files.

Even though filling out the form might be allowed, overall modifications to the file are not allowed, which is possible using the desktop version. Also, try using the online portal: https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/home/ and fill out the form from there.

Hope this helps.

-Souvik.

I also facing the same problem. I try your suggestion to:

Using the online portal: https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/home/ --> it will be need to open the app to sign the document, and in the app still appear "read-only" error.

Hi @Annisa30890637kqof,

Thank you for sharing the details. From the description, it looks like the file you are referring to is created as a read-only file while filling out the forms enabled for the document.

While there are limitations in the mobile version of Acrobat on how the UI handles read-only files, we are working to get the feature implemented in future releases.

Meanwhile, I request you to fill in such documents on the desktop version of the application.

Hope this clarifies your question.

-Souvik
