I just tried it on my Phone:

  • Product/Model: Galaxy S22/SM-901U
  • Acrobat Reader: 24.11.2.36347

and it had exibited the upload behavior.

I saw there was an update available and after updating to 25.2.0.37438 it seems to be fixed on my phone too.

I started noticing this same behavior. I was hoping it wasn't just me, but this is the only posting I have found anywhere describing this odd behavior. The Acrobat Reader on Android devices seems to be doing something to the files on that makes Google Drive think they were modified somehow. I do a lot of work off network using the Google Drive's "Make available offline" feature and when I connect back to the network, any file I have opened needs to be uploaded. Sometimes this is even causing Google Drive to hang and not let me reopen a file because it is "out of sync".

Hi there,

I hope you’re doing well! Thank you for reaching out and bringing this issue to our attention.

To assist you further, could you please share the following information:

  1. Device Details: The OS version of your device (iOS/Android).
  2. App Version: The version of Adobe Acrobat mobile app you're using. To check, open the app, tap on the profile icon, then select About Adobe Acrobat.

If you haven't already, please ensure:

  • The app is updated to the latest version from the Play Store (for Android) or App Store (for iOS).
  • Try restarting your device after updating to see if that resolves the issue.

If the issue persists, a short video recording of the steps you're taking, along with where the issue occurs, would be incredibly helpful. This additional context allows us to better understand and address your concerns promptly.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

~Amal

Hi Amal,

thanks for your response to my posting.

Here are the requested infos about OS and Acrobat Reader

OS is Android 14 - Sony Xperia 10 VI

Acrobat Reader Version is 24.10.0.36176

GoogleDrive is 2.24.417.3.all.dpi

As you suggested i made a video to show all the steps taken

1) a pdf on my google drive is selected and with the context menu Acrobat Reader is selected to open the file

2) file is openened by Acrobat Reader

3) immediately after using the back gesture on the phone google drive starts an upload to my drive (which is paused because i was not connected to a wireless network - you can see this also in the message center at the end of the video

I noticed this behaviour also on my old phone whic was running Android 9.

Howdy @Amal.,

It has been a couple of months on this and I was wondering if there was a way for us to track that ticket you logged?

Kindest regards,

Bill

This seems to be fixed in v25.2.0.37438.

I'm not sure if it was fixed in a previous version or not, but I know that today when I was reviewing documents on my Tab S9, they weren't trying to upload after closing each one.
