Urgent: Lost Local Files After Reinstalling Adobe Acrobat on iPhone

New Here ,
Jun 18, 2025 Jun 18, 2025

Dear Adobe Acrobat Support Team,

I am writing to request urgent assistance regarding a serious issue I encountered after uninstalling and reinstalling the Adobe Acrobat app on my iPhone.

Before uninstalling, I had multiple important PDF files stored locally within the app (“Local only” files, not backed up to Document Cloud or iCloud). Unfortunately, after reinstalling the app, all of these files are now gone. I did not receive any prompt or warning indicating that uninstalling the app would result in permanent loss of these files.

These documents are very important to me, and I would like to know if there is any possible way to recover them — either through a local device backup, app cache, or any other method Adobe may have in place.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do, or if your team needs any additional information to investigate further. These files are extremely important, and I would deeply appreciate any support or guidance you can provide.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out. We totally understand how stressful this situation must be.

When the Acrobat app is uninstalled from an iPhone, all files stored only within the app (marked as “Local only” and not synced to Document Cloud or backed up to iCloud) are unfortunately deleted along with the app’s data. iOS doesn’t give a specific warning about this for app-specific files, and Acrobat doesn’t have a built-in recovery option for files that weren’t synced or backed up.

I wish there was a more direct recovery method, but if the files were strictly local and the app was uninstalled, iOS removes all associated app data for privacy and storage reasons.

Hope this information will help.

Regards
Amal
