I am using a Galaxy tab S3 9.7 & running Android Oreo. I'm using Firefox. Whenever I try to open a pdf file, it opens Acrobat Reader. Then, when it tries to open the file, it says, "ERROR: The file could not be downloaded. Please save the file to your local storage and then try to open it."

I usually am not given a chance to save it from my bank's website.

How do I solve this problem?

Hello,

As you have mentioned above, whenever you try to open a PDF on Firefox browser it launches the Adobe Acrobat Reader application.

The error that you have mentioned above clearly indicates that you need to save the PDF to local storage first in order to open it in the application.

It seems to be an issue only with the PDF that you try to open from your Bank's website.

Could you please let us know when you open your bank's website, is there any attachment or PDF link available there?

How exactly the PDF available on that website? Do you find any option to download the file?

It would be helpful if you can share the screenshots for the same to understand it better.

We will be waiting for your response.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Meenakshi

I have the same problem using Firefox and a wealth management web site. I can't see how else to save the file as clicking on it goes straight to Adobe and the same download error.
