Hi,

Few years ago, I created pdf forms for field activity reports with Acrobat Pro version 11.

The field team is using it in the field from an Ipad, once completed and signed by the customer, it is sent for processsing.

Some members of the team have allowed the ipad update from v16 to v18.

Result (until we discover other issues):

- The signature (with the finger on the Ipad display) does not work anymore.

- Sending a flattened copy of the form via email does not work anymore (only the editable form can be sent)

(The form is still Ok as I send it to my ipad and resend it as a flattened copy to our department email)

Has anyone been faced to the same and has a nice fix for this ?

Thanks in advance

Hi pierre1961,

We just released Acrobat Reader 18.12.00 to the App Store on December 14, 2018.

This release offers the flattening option in Acrobat's Settings > Preferences.

Please see the following FAQ document for more details.

How to share a flattened copy of a PDF document

Would you please update to 18.12.00 and let us know if it works for you?

Thank you.

Hi pierre1961,

As per the issue description mentioned above, signature on a pdf as well as sending a flattened copy of pdf form don't work after updating ios version on ipad, is that correct?

Does this happen with this specific pdf form only? Have you tried signing other pdf and check if that works?

also, what options you are using to send the pdf?

Also, could you confirm dot version of acrobat installed on the device? You may refer to the steps given in the following help document for the same: Troubleshooting — Acrobat Reader Mobile App

Thanks,

Shivam

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your answers - to Shivam and to MobileDeveloperCK.

a) We have found the way to have the form signed (a bit less straight forward than with version 16 but it works anyway)

b) The new release 18.12.00 allows the flattening option for sharing the completed form and the FAQ indicated above is describing this nicely.

Thanks again

Back to normal field operations.

Best regards

Pierre
