Samsung s5 6.0.1, AAR Version 18.5.1 8310
A change in the 3rd party app and now I am unable to view the current bill.
I have cleared default apps to view the bill.
Uninstall/Install AAR.
Openning 3rd party app and then selecting AAR to view the bill I get "no app available on the device to open this file type". If I choose Samsung print service plugin I can view the bill, download as pdf and use AAR

Hi Blairs,
Sorry for the delay in response.
As the file is downloading in the document format, it is not an Adobe issue.
The file was downloaded from the biller website, it seems that the format selected there was the document.
In this case, I would suggest you to check with your biller once.

Meenakshi

Hi blairs,
As per the issue description mentioned above, you are unable to view bill using acrobat reader, is that correct?
Are you viewing the bill in a web browser? If yes, try downloading it on the device and then open it using reader and check if that works.
You can also locate the pdf by going into files>on this device and More locations and try opening it from there and check.
Refer following help document for the same:
Acrobat Reader Help for Android: Help Home

Does this happen with this specific website? Have you tried with another pdf and check if this behavior continues? Also, try making acrobat reader default for opening pdf by opening one of the pdf > check for option remember this choice/option and check if that works.

So far only this website, AAR does open other bills.
I tried another pdf reader and it did open this bill.
Yes I have tried opening the bill with AAR set as default, no luck.
I notice if I have samsung internet browser set as default but "no" pdf set as default, it will download the bill and "not" ask to open with AAR, Samsung print service plugin or other pdf reader.
If I have chrome browser set as default but "no" pdf set as default it will download the bill and ask to open with AAR or other, if I choose AAR it's unable to read it.

It seems its a website/file specific issue. I would suggest you to contact the sender/site owner and see what they have to suggest.

Sender said they have not changed anything with their bill.
I believe it may have something to do with your data permission access as (all permissions are on)
When AAR is not selected as default, and then select it to view the bill it does not ask me to "allow AAR access to photos / media / files on your device .... deny. ....allow" , another pdf viewer asks me this and I can view the bill

Hi Blairs,
Sorry for the delay in response.
Please try once to open the file directly from the application.
Open the application and go to Files > More Location.
Then go to Downloads and search for the file.
Would you please let us know if the bill downloaded in the PDF format or n some other format file?
It can also be a reason that the file is not opening in the application.
We will be waiting for your response.

Meenakshi

Ok, so I have figured out what is happening with my original problem, and that is, when I view the bill thru samsung internet browser it is downloading the bill as "Doc1234......" with no file extension, ie "Doc1234.....pdf".
So I just have to add the .pdf when downloading. Not sure whose problem that is samsung internet browser or the biller.
