We are on Acrobat Reader DC Version 2020.009.20067, my CFO is unable to view documents because the software crashes after 20 seconds of opening the file. Please advise how I can resolve this issue for him.

Hi Christina_garcia

We are sorry for the trouble. As described, the application is crasing after 20 seconds.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs that you try to open? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

If the file is stored on a shared network/drive, please try to download the file to the computer locally and then try to open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

You may also try to turn off the protected mode for testing and see if that helps. Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced Security  > Turn Off the Protected Mode and Uncheck the Enhanced Security > Click OK
Note: Please turn on the security after testing.

As you have the latest version of the application, you may also try to repair the installation (For Windows Only). Go to Help > Repair Installation

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal
