Hi Everyone

Any answers to the following problem please.

Each and every time I save a pdf, say from an email to my computer, on saving the document, the Reader app instantly closes. The next time I open the reader, it asks me, if I want to re-open the previously saved documents, because the reader had closed abruptly. Using the 'repair installation' feature in the 'Help' tab does not solve the issue.

Many thanks

Hi there

We are sorry for the trouble and the delay in response. I hope you would be able o fix it by now

If the issue still persists, would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat DC

Make sure you have the latest version 20.009.20067 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

Let us know how it goes

Hi Amal

Thanks for your reply.

I can confirm I have the latest version of the Acrobat Reader DC, I.e.2020.009.20067.57037.

I can also confirm the problem still persists, which incidentally means that any already open pdf files are also force-closed.

I have an additional headache with your website. When I first sought help, I created a profile – bigbadwolfatlarge. When I tried to return to your reply, the Forum did not give me an option of logging in but only to create a new identity. When I entered bigbadwolfatlarge, the site told me this was already taken and to choose another ID. I’ve tried various routes, via the main Adobe website, where I have TWO login IDs, but I can’t get to the Forum at all. I can only reply to this email. This is some kind of a technical glitch, but painful.

Hoping to hear from you about both, but the app closure is the main issue.

Kind regards

Ivan Wolf

Hi there

We are sorry to keep you waiting.

For the first issue, please try to turn off thr protected mode for testing. Go to Edit > Preferenced > Enhanced Security  > Turn off the protected mode snd uncheck the enhanced security > click ok
Note: please turn on the security after testing

if it still doesn't work, please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights and try using the application there and check.

For the second issue, it occures when you have used the corporate Id to login with the same browser. Please go to Adobe.com and logout > reboot the computer and go back to forums and login and check.

Regards

Amal
