Hi,

I use creative cloud subscription. I need to have a PDF file play audio. I tried loading the audio thorugh Acrobat DC, i go through the steps. But in the reader, I get a white patch where the audio content is. There is no playback. I need to send this PDF to a group of people who maybe having any reader version.

The PDF plays back on Acrobat Pro DC, but not the reader.

Another problem, once the audio is placed in, the audio can't be removed. There's no way to remove the audio object. It just does not allow you to select the audio file.

All i get in the reader is a white patch, no audio, nothing.

I don't have see a problem with playing embedded MP3 with Reader 2020.012.20048.

But you'll have to trust the document to start the playback. Select an option from the yellow bar once you've clicked the image of the audio file.

To delete audio file just open the file in Acrobat and then the Rich Media menu you already used to add those files. It that mode you can easily select already existing annotations and delete them by pressing [Del].

Hi,

Thanks very much for your response. I figured out the delete part. My other
question is would this play across other versions of the reader? like XI, X
and earlier versions?

As i tested, this played back on Acrobat Reader DC..and didn't play in the
earlier one. Also, I face another issue which I hope can be solved. The
mp3 file is embedded but I get a display icon as the attachment. I don't
get a full multimedia player.

How do I enable that?

Until about 6 months ago, Reader used Flash Player for all multimedia content. Flash Player is going away, so all old versions (9,10,11 and DC up to mid 2020) will stop working for multimedia. At least, that's my guess. I'd rather see an Adobe statement.

Thanks so much to everyone who replied. How do i get a proper media style
playback object when i embed the file?

Now I get a box with a play icon, but the play icon disappears and i get a
wavy line that displays the waveform. How do I get the media player
interface with the play, stop and volume icons?

This is all i need.
