Hey Ethann,

This kind of behavior where document's background goes black and text appears to be white, generally because of the change in Acrobat's accessibility's preferences setting.

  1. You may check the options selected under Adobe Reader>Edit>Preferences>Accessibility what are the settings you see there?

2.If, there's nothing wrong with the preferences settings. Then there could be an issue with your system's Graphic cards. You may update system drivers.

Navigate to Device manager>Display adapters>right click Update driver>Reboot computer and check again.

Let us know the result.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hi Juliekc,

We are sorry for the trouble and the delay in response.

As you have tried the troubleshooting steps and updated the video drivers and firmware and issue is still unresolved. Please try to remove the video drivers and firmware and reinstall and see if that helps.

Make sure you have the latest version 20.006.20034 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

Try with a different PDF file and check. If its a file specific issue please upload the file to the document cloud (https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/) generate the link and share it with us for testing.

Also, try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights or enable the root account on Mac (https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204012) and try opening the PDF there and check,

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

Hi there,

If the issue is still unresolved, please try the following steps and see if that helps:

Please try to update the application to the new version 20.006.20042 released recently. Go to Help > Check for Updates. Also, share the video card driver version and try to update the video drivers and firmware.

If it still doesn't work please share the sample files and the log files with us for testing.

For windows please use the process monitor tool to collect the logs (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon) run the tool and generate the issue and collect the logs to share.

Regards

Amal
