Apple Silicon: Unable to install Acrobat using the Creative Cloud Desktop App on the new Mac Big Sur
Unable to install Acrobat using the Creative Cloud desktop app on the new Mac Big Sur?
Acrobat Reader DC, Acrobat DC, Acrobat 2020, and Acrobat 2017 are compatible with macOS Big Sur (version 11).
Solution 1: Update the Creative Cloud Desktop app to the latest version and then try installing Acrobat.
Solution 2: Install Acrobat DC on your new M1 Macbook/Apple Silicon using the direct download link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Despite words to the contrary on <https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/mac-os11-big-sur-compatibility.html> Adobe Acrobat Reader does not have an Operating System option for Big Sur ie 11.0 -> 11.1 on Step 1 in the red panel on the left of the web page located at <https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/otherversions/>

Hi Rachelle,
The problem you are experiencing is the same as mine. The problem is that the Adobe website that deals with software downloads DOES NOT have an option for Acrobat Reader for Big Sur, or even any Apple operating system at or above 11. As Big Sur, with all the updates now has a version of 11.1, it is not supported as an install location for the Acrobat Reader. Remember that you can open PDF's using the Big Sur Preview, but it is more of a runaround to save onto your machine.
This inability to install might make me look elsewhere for another program for PDF's, but hopefully Adope is working on a fix but I am not counting on it.

My download is stalled on MAC with Big Sur. Same problem everyone else is having, however, I can't even force it to quit and it's stopping me from shutting down my machine. Can anyone tell me how to stop this installation?
