A follow-up update to Acrobat DC, Reader DC & Acrobat/Reader 2017 Feb 2021 release for Windows & Mac 21.001.20145 Optional update, Mar 10, 2021, & 17.011.30194 Optional update, Mar 10, 2021, is available which addresses some important bug fixes that have been reported in the Feb 09, 2021 release.
This release is a hotfix patch for Acrobat DC, Reader DC & Acrobat/Reader 2017 that addresses some important bug fixes and is applicable for Acrobat and Reader DC Continuous & Classic tracks.
Adobe recommends installing and updating the apps for Windows and Mac to the latest version of Continous track: 21.001.20145 & Classic track: 17.011.30194 as quickly as possible.
Install the updates from the help menu> select check for updates. Reboot the machine after installing the updates.

This hotfix patch is applicable for Reader DC Continuous track.

Thumbnail preview of PDFs not displayed in Windows Explorer - Fix
After the Feb 9, 2021 release of Acrobat & Reader DC version 2021.001.20135, Thumbnail preview of PDFs were not displaying/generating in the Windows Explorer.
The thumbnail preview of PDFs was not displaying/generating correctly in the Windows Explorer even though the Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer option was selected in Edit > Preferences > General.
Workaround:
Note: This is a temporary workaround, Adobe is working to fix this issue asap.
- Quit Acrobat Reader DC if it's already running.
- Open the Registry Editor: Go to Run (Windows menu + R), type regedit.exe in the Open field, and then click OK.
- In the Registry Editor, create the following key:
Path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\AdobeViewer
Key: EULA
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Open the Task Manager in Windows by doing one of the following:
- Right-click on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen and choose Task Manager.
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys on your keyboard and then choose Task Manager.
- In the Task Manager window, choose the Windows Explorer process, and then click Restart.
7. Close the Task Manager.
8. Open Windows Explorer and check the thumbnail previews of PDFs.

- “Choose Paper Source by PDF page size” checkbox is not working while Protected Mode is enabled
Search
- Acrobat is not able to load the associated index with a PDF file
Installer
- Getting Error 1722 while installing 32-bit Reader or on applying latest Reader patch
Fill & Sign
- Reader: Nothing happens on clicking “Save a copy” button after adding a signature through Fill and Sign on a Reader extended document
Editing
- Cell content from Excel app is getting copied as an image to the Edit app
Unable to print by PDF page size after updating Acrobat DC or Acrobat Reader DC to the latest version.
This is to inform, we don't need the below-mentioned workaround any more. Please keep the protected mode enabled.

4324342: “Choose Paper Source by PDF page size” checkbox is not working while Protected Mode is enabled."
On Windows only
While printing a PDF from Acrobat DC or Acrobat Reader DC, even though the Choose paper source by PDF page size option is selected in the Print dialog box, the document gets printed with the default page size.
Workaround:
Note: This is a temporary workaround. Adobe is working to fix the issue. We recommend enabling the Protected Mode after you have printed your documents for the security advantages it provides by sandboxing application processes.
- Disable the Protected Mode in Acrobat DC or Acrobat Reader DC
- In Acrobat DC or Acrobat Reader DC, go to Edit > Preferences.
- From the Categories on the left, select Security (Enhanced).
- Uncheck the option Enable Protected Mode at Startup, and then click OK.
- Quit Acrobat DC or Acrobat Reader DC.
- Relaunch Acrobat DC or Acrobat Reader DC. The Choose paper source by PDF page size option in the Print dialog should work as expected.
