Dropped images from Illustrator but not as a tiff

What would cause part of a image/font drop from an illustrator and pdf file but not .tiff file?
Went to print a step and repeat for a client, the image saved out and showed all parts of the artwork including the registration 'R', but on print, the 'R' in the circle did not print. what could cause this to happen?

All show fine in the Illustrator and PDF file.

Could be that the font information is not embedded. Go to File>Properties>Fonts and it should say embedded next to the font names.
