We're sorry for the trouble you are having with Adobe Reader, please reboot the machine once and check for any pending updates of Adobe Reader from help>check for updates.
Reboot the machine after updating Adobe Reader and check.
Are you getting this error message while launching Adobe Reader application or while opening a PDF file?
What is the verison of the operating system installed?
If you get any error message, then do the following:
Note: Disabling the protected Mode and Enhanced Security is only for testing purpose. Please enable it back.
If you still experience any issue, please remove Adobe Reader using Acrobat cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs
Reboot the machine and install Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Bonjour Anand Sri,
I did the complete uninstallation via AdobeCleaner and did reinstallation of Adobe reader (french version)
I GOT THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE.
I started my application asking to open the file….waiting about 30 seconds and the error message happened.

Bonjour,
I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times Adobe Reader and always the same ERROR MESSAGE. I installed another program (i.e. Foxit Reader) and my application works !!!
So please review your program. Hope to GET AN ANSWER !
