Hello,
Trying to distribute the Adobe Reader DC Update 21.001.20135 to a larger group of machines,
by means of SCCM (but also manually donwloaded and installed)
I receive the following error message:
"Product: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC MUI -- Error 1722.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action InstallWebResources, location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroCEF\RdrServicesUpdater.exe, command: 21.001.20135 20.013.20074.0"

Hi,
We are not in a position to commit on a timeline right now but we are looking into this with very high priority. As you may understand a new update will have to go through a round of certification testing and hence will take some time. We will try to provide an update here as soon as possible. The problem only happens when no user is logged in into the system and doesn't happen if a user is logged in. In your deployment tools if there is an option to install update with user logged in (do not confuse this with per user installation) then you can use it and it should work.
Thanks.

This is happening even if a user is logged in, on a network that doesn't have internet access.

Thanks for this additional peice of information. I'll convey this to the engineers working on this issue. May you please share your Windows OS version and MSI log of installation if possible? Also, is the patch file kept on a shared network drive or is being downloaded via SCCM locally?
Refer to link below to enable MSI logging
If you are using a command line then you can use /l*v to generate verbose MSI logs.

Windows 10 20H2 and 1909. I am unable to share logs due to the nature of the network. But I was able to install it on a network that is connected to the internet without any issues, logged in. On a disconnected network it wouldn't install at all without the INSTALLUWPAPP=NO.

For me it just fails when I run the .msp after I download it. Normally I would take this .msp and call it in a script we use for install and enroll in MECM. The .msp needs to runs successfully first. I had no issue with October and December updates.

Here also installing with SYSTEM account fails , installing with INSTALLUWPAPP=NO succeeds.

When first encountering this error the update, on one machine we uninstalled Adobe Acrobat DC and tried to do a 'fresh' install, but encountered the same error.
I am still unable to install a new installation of Adobe Acrobat DC, getting the same error. Is there an installation that contains the fix, so that a new installation may be done?
Thank you.

The full installer doesn't include the patch but you can integrate it manually.
