Hi
I am trying to edit the contents of a pdf through programing. Also, in my pdf there are tables but are created in a layered manner, like one rectangle next to it another rectangle etc. I am unable to find some API etc for editing the contents of this pdf.
Can anyone tell how to proceed for this?
Thanks and regards
Archana

You can use Acrobat or Illustrator to edit a PDF in some ways manually. However it depends extremely on how the the PDF is structured internally how complex this is going to be. There could be used thousands of objects even for a simple looking page, which making can make things really elaborate. To make those editings via an API is nonsense, since you wouldn't know, what object represence what in the PDF. So the only way to edit is visually.

Acrobat (but not the free Acrobat Reader) has a plug-in API. Experienced C++ programmers who understand the PDF format well can add plug-ins to Acrobat to do some editing. It is a daunting task. There are no tables in PDF, only lines, text, boxes. If you have paid-for Acrobat, suitable C++ tools, and the necessary skills and dedication search for "Acrobat SDK".
