how to reconfigure from chrome html to adobe pdf

All my pdf docs were in Adobe. I changed my browser to firefox and then all my pdfs changed to firefox pdfs. I then changed the browse to Chrome and all the pdf docs changed to Chrome HTML docs. I want everything to go back to adobe and can't do it. I need assistance please.
