As above, .pdf's stored in this file drive won't open in Adobe Reader. After being fully authenticated into One Drive and then Personal Vault, Reader opens but says, "There was an error opening this document. Access denied." Please help. Thanks

Hi DHOHara,

Apologies for the delay in response. As described above, you are experiencing issue while opening the PDF from One Drive, correct?

Please try to white list the One Drive location in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced Settings > Add File and Add Folder Path > Click OK and restart the application and check.

You may also try to turn off the protected view.  Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced Settings > Turn off the Protected View and Uncheck the Enhanced Security > Click OK and Restart the application and check.

Note: Turning off the security is for testing purpose only, please turn on the security after testing, irrespective of the result.

If turning off the security settings works for you, please use the help article - https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/protected-mode-troubleshooting-reader.html

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

I have the same problem. It looks like the answer is to uncheck the "Enable Protected Mode at Startup" in Acrobat Reader DC

Hi there,

Please uncheck the protected mode in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and let us know if that works for you.
