Hi All,
I am trying to create a pdf file to open links to other files on my windows surface pro 2 tablet (2-in-1 pc).
I created an excel file on my laptop, with links to other pdf or jpegs.
I am saving the excel as a pdf, and the links are working perfectly from the pdf.
When I copy them to my surface pro 2, only the excel recognizes and opens the files.
The links in the pdf are no longer clickable.
The only difference I see is that I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC on my laptop, and Adobe Reader Touch on my windows surface pro 2 tablet. Could this be the reason?
I don't have the Acrobat pro available on my surface pro...
Both my laptop and my surface pro 2 are running on windows 10.
Any other suggestions or help would be helpfull, because I am stuck now.
Thank you!!
Vincent
Hi Vincent
Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, the links are not working on Windows surface pro with Adobe Reader Touch.
Adobe Reader Touch is an old and EOL application and no longer supported. I have checked your Adobe Account with the email you are using on this community and found that you have access to all the applications from Adobe.
Please remove the Adobe Reader Touch from the machine and install Adobe Acrobat DC using the link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

Note: You can use Acrobat DC on two devices one at a time.
Also, when you copy the PDF with the links to surface pro machine make sure you also copy the original source files in the links as well so as get the links work properly.
Additional information: Saving Excel file as PDF is the Microsoft process of PDF creation. Please try to create the PDF using Adobe Acrobat ribbon in the Excel present at the top right of the toolbar. For more information about creating the PDF from MS office please check the page: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/how-to/create-pdf-files-word-excel-website.html
Hope this information will help
