Password for access to account

I reinstalled Adobe Reader and set up a password.  When I try to open a file sent to me, I am asked for a password.  I assumed that would be the new password I just set up.  It doesn't work and neither do my passwords for the file source attachment nor my e-mail address.  What password should work?  Thanks.

No, the two things have nothing to do with each other. You need to ask for the password to open the file from the file's author.
