We use a dental software program that creates emails with a PDF attached to send images and x-rays to other offices. As of this week when these PDF's are sent to other offices they can no longer open the PDF. They receive this above error. We were running V11.x of Reader, I tried downgrading them to vDC this did not solve the issue. Please advise.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response.

Could you please confirm dot version of Reader installed on the user's machine? To check the version in Reader: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

You may refer to the following links which discuss the similar issue:

Error: "There was an error while reading this Stream" - how can i fix this?

THE FAMOUS ERROR: There was a problem reading this document (15) - Thanks Adobe Engineering team

Also, would it be possible if you can share one of the problematic pdf file with us? You may initiate a private message for the same by hovering the mouse over person's username and click Message

Thank You,

Shivam

I'm having this same issue, but don't seem to see an applicable fix in any of the links.

Hi JennAOrtiz,

Could you let us know the application you are using to view the pdfs- Acrobat Reader/ Adobe Acrobat?  And, the dot version of the application: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Try updating Reader/ Acrobat to the latest patch and check if that resolves the issue. Launch the application > click Help > check for updates. You can also download updates manually using this link: Adobe software and product updates

Also, would it be possible to share the problematic pdf file with us? You may share the file using Document Cloud: How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

Thanks,

Shivam

We're having the same issue.  The file is not opening on a Windows 10 machine nor a MacBook Pro.  Both computers are using Adobe Acrobat Pro.  Both computers have an Adobe CS subscription.

I will share the file via private message to you.

Thank you in adance for your assistance.

Blessings,

Pastor John
