As with many others, I cannot open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC in windows 10.
Here's what I tried:
Tried installing on the C: drive, then giving users full access.  Didn’t Work

Tried installing an old version, and installing updates.  Didn’t work

Uninstalled, removed the reader folders in AppData.  Reinstall.  Didn’t work.

Uninstalled, reinstalled with win 7, and once with win 8 compatibility, with and without administrator access.  Once in a while, I'd get a "Protected view" error, and if I shut it off, it'd open, but when I shut it off permanently in reader, I still couldn't get back in.

I've been fighting with this for three weeks.   Any assistance would be appreciated.

Figured out my problem.  Rename AcroRd32.exe to something like AcroRd321.exe  Now it opens. Now just reassign the file associations, and I'm good to go.

Wow. Contacted adobe support for an this issue. First tech connected in, tried a few things to get reader going, but it was all stuff I had tried. Then shift change, new tech refused to connect in, and basically refused to help me anymore, telling me to post in their support forums, which I did several days ago, with no solutions offered.

I'm going to see if my superiors will authorize the use of Foxit reader, as Adobe support is clueless, worthless, and just plain horrible.
