Reader not working

Hi, I have used Reader DC for years. It now does not open a file. I deleted the app then downloaded it fresh and had the same issue.  Only a black screen comes up and the spining ball for Mac. Any Ideas on this?

We are sorry for the trouble. As described the Acrobat Reader does not open a PDF file.

 

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try to open a different PDF file and check.

 

You may also try to turn off the protected mode for testing. Go to Adobe Acrobat Reader > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Turn off the protected Mode and Uncheck the Enhanced Security > Click OK and Check

Note: Please turn ON the security after testing.

 

If it still doesn't, work, Please try the following steps:
