I uploaded a file into Adobe Acrobat Reader to get acquainted with the program. So I did various things with the file and now I want to delete the file but I don't want to lose it forever.. If I delete it, will it be gone forever? Where will it go if I delete it. I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm very new at this, so please help.

I just want to delete the file from Adobe Acrobat. I want to keep the file on my computer, if possible. It's the only copy of that file that I have.

Does you mean the list of recent used documents? This are only links to the documents.

This has nothing to do with the application. When you delete a file on your computer it usually goes to the Recycle Bin. If you delete it from there then it's gone for good, although many times it can be restored even after that, using the right tools. The same applies to PDF files, images, Word documents, text files, or anything else.

I don't think I really understand what you mean by "I want to delete the file but I don't want to lose it forever." The usual reason for deleting a file is to make sure it is gone forever. Why do you want to delete it, if not to get rid of it forever?

I don't think we're understanding each other clearly so please try this.

You're on Windows, right?

1. Open the file in Acrobat Reader.

2. Use Properties from the File menu

3. Click the Description tab at the top.

4. Read down until you see "location"

5. Type out everything you see after "Location:" for us.

Sent from Mail for Windows 10

After “Location” it says E:/Documents

That’s what I was looking for and I’m beginning to understand this program

I’ve been using Adobe Acrobat for years, but only to open and print documents

Thank you for your understanding and help, I really appreciate it.
