I have the latest continuous release of AdobeAcrobat Reader DC (2021.001.20135). I had enabled PDF thumbnails previews in File Explorer, but after that update, they did not show up. Only the default icon was showing. I tried turning it on and off copule of times, repaired the installation, and even installed it again; but the thumbnails are still not showing. What should I do now?

I have updated to latest Acrobat Reader DC and Acrobat PRO. Enabling thumbnail preview by going to the options of each of them has not helped at all. I am running Windows 10 - 64 bit.  I tried unisntalling and reinstalling both of the software and restarted my laptop multiple times but still no success. Please suggest a solution.

I have a desktop and a laptop. The latest update resolved the problem on the desktop but not the laptop both running the latest versions of W10.

A work around is to delete the pdf file and then restore but that is anoying and should not be necessary.

Version 22.002.20212 made the problem worse! Now the work around doesn't work. If you delete the pdf file it will show the thumbnail in the recycle bin and in downloads after restoring but refreshing the donlaoder causes the file to revert to the Acrobat icon.

Hi Usefulbells,

Thank you for reaching out.

As mentioned above, the thumbnails show in recycle bin for PDF. However, it does not appear as a PDF in the Download folder.

Did you check if the thumbnails appear for the PDFs saved on the desktop or another location on the machine?

Would you mind sharing the screenshot for the same?

Share the OS version on the machine.

If you have tried any troubleshooting steps, please share.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi

Please update your Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader DC. The latest patch release (21.001.20142) has the fix for this problem. To update from within the product, open Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, and go to Help > Check for updates.

Thanks

Tanvi
