Hi, when i send pdf's via email the recipient receives the following message when opening the file..

Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open '- 11-18-2020.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

How can i try to fix this issue?

Regards

Justin

Contact your email service provider and ask them to fix the encoding for PDF files... You can also zip up the file before sending it.

Hi Justin

++ Adding to the discussion

Please look at the correct answer marked in a similar discussion https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader/adobe-acrobat-reader-dc-could-not-open-because-it-is-e...

Also, you may consider trying the steps suggested in the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-error-1015-11001-update.html
Note: Steps are same for new version of Acrobat/Reader DC
