why are pdf documents opened in reader dc open as a hyperlink

When I open a pdf document in Acrobat Reader DC it opens as a hyperlink.  When ever I click on the document it turns black and unreadable.  What can I do?

1. Does it happen with alone PDF or with every PDF file? Can you share one such PDF file?
2. Can you share error screen shot/video to understand the issue better?

3. Can you provide the Acrobat version you are using?
