Acrobat 8 fails to recognize valid license

New Here ,
Jun 14, 2016 Jun 14, 2016

I recently uninstalled Adobe Acrobat 8.1.3 from an old laptop. During the uninstall, I made sure to deactivate my license when that option was presented.

Now, I want to install Acrobat 8 on a new machine. I went to this page: Download Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9 and downloaded Acrobat 8 pro. On the new machine, I successfully installed Acrobat 8. However, when I went to activate my previous license, it gave me an error saying that I was using an invalid license.

I chatted with customer support, and they verified that I had a valid license that was currently unused by any machine. Using the trial version, I also verified that Acrobat was fully functional.

Both the old and new laptops are running Windows 10 with all of the most recent updates downloaded and installed.

Why is Acrobat refusing to recognize my valid license key?

Thank you for getting back to me.

The troubleshooting guide did not help at all. However, after reading this forum thread:All I need is a link. A simple link. I realized that I was attempting to use an Acrobat 8 Standard license on an installation of Acrobat 8 Pro.

Hi Mreinhart408,

Please try the troubleshooting steps from the link  given Below.

Or

Let us know if that helps.

I was using windows 10, so I could easily mount it and then run the autorun.exe file. Otherwise, you can always burn the .iso to a cd and run it from there.
