Trying to re-install Acrobat 8, which worked fine until today. Installing on windows 7 machine. The problem is with the registration. It states a "Registration - Connection Failure." I use both Chrome and IE and no internet issues with them. Is it a firewall issue? Something else?

I think Acrobat 8 got stuck with the CS1 and CS2 products in that Adobe no longer supports activation ... they literally took the server offline. If you have a previous installation, it should stay activated, but you can't re-install and reactivate. For a short while, Adobe offered a special version of Acrobat 8 to download along with new install keys, but last I knew, they pulled that. As I recall, Acrobat 8 was designed for XP and wasn't compatible with Windows 7 and if installed, required special uninstall and cleaner software + manual regeditting to remove all installed Adobe products it corrupted things so badly. I tried to install it to Windows 7 back in the day, but gave up as it was too buggy.
