They cannot help. They refer back to here. There is no more support for Acrobat 8 Standard, and they cannot help with the activation

that's a problem that has a solution different from the one you requested.
confirm that you can connect to the secure adobe servers.

Thank you. I already did all that. I have connection, got the logo, host-file is clean.
I still cannot activate and support cannot or will not help me.

that's the only help available from adobe for the problem you're having with software that's no longer supported.

I think it is terrible that I am forced to buy a new product as the one I have, and have legally bought, is still working perfect for me. I am not a heavy user and 8 Standard is doing exactly what I want, also in Windows 10. It is not fair that I cannot activate anymore.
I am leaving this forum now, but I am not happy.
