New Here ,

I have loaded the same document in DC Pro and XI Pro. XI will OCR the document and let me ad text, copy text, etc. DC Pro does not appear to even attempt to OCR the document when I ask it to Edit PDF.

You need to start it manually. Not everyone wants the PDF OCRd. If you want it automatic either use the software provided with your scanner or buy a third party program.
